birthday magic

Well, I feel like I had a pretty good birthday. Bike ride, random feelings of blissful happiness and enlightenment, you know, the usual. I had a lovely party that quite a few people showed up at and QUITE afew people missed for various reasons. I understand, and I'm not bitter. You all missed a killer slide show of Flipside by rEy, 5beautiful people on the tranquilounger at a time, a drum circle that refused to stop, and of course, me. That's okay. I missed you too.
It was interesting to look around and see the people who'd gathered there quite randomly to celebrate my life. There were, as usual, people from all walks with many differences among them, yet not only do they get along, they actually thrive together. It must be the food. OH YES! You thought I wasn't going to talk about the food didn't you? Thought you were going to get off easy and not have it rubbed in your face, eh?

Well, I may be benevolent, but I'm also a smart ass, so here we go.
Spinach and Meunster pastry rolls.
Dolmas made by harliquinmayhem with cacik (or tzatziki if you're greek) to dip in.
Artichoke bruschetta
candied nuts (come on oriori1, you know you want to say something here)
Chipotle fundue
Chocolate fondue
Little pastry cups with cremini mushrooms and garlic topped with a slice of brie.

Oh yes, and one more thing.
Three little words.
Sweet Potato PIE!!!!

Now I do have one complaint. I should have kissed more girls. Maybe that's me maturing. Of course, now I have four cans of whipped cream that didn't get used for my birthday. Last year, I ran out! I guess that's what you get for trying to relive the past. No whipped cream.
